Training in Textile Design at Glasgow School of Art in the late 70’s I ran up these steps often! Sadly the building as you will know exists only in our memories but I remember so many wonderful details, the creak of the floor boards and heavy doors, the smell of place, standing in the art school shop waiting in a queue of eager students….. The textile department was housed in the Newbury Tower directly across the road so we had this excellent view from our desks every day. I felt entitled to draw this, the star of Rennie MacIntosh Architecture in my style and as I remember it but fading it out to remind us of its current fragile state.
